Hospital Corner + Jeshua

The Vault Arts Centre & sleepy eyed presents Hospital Corner; the artistic moniker of Edinburgh musician Chris Finn. Having released a demo EP recorded in his flat in 2021, Hospital Corner has since signed with Glasgow label In Black Records for a forthcoming studio EP called Speaking New Languages.

Releasing initially as 4 singles, Hospital Corner has received critical acclaim and airplay on BBC Radio Scotland, SheBeat's Scottish Music Scene, Scots Wahey Show, Amazing Radio through Jim Gellatly, Frankie Francis and on Amazing Radio US.

Hospital Corner has also featured on playlists including Wide Days 'New From Scotland' and Alive & Amplified's 'New Scottish  Releases'.

"Finn employs the aesthetics of heartland hymns in orchestrating a song for everyday people" – WEEK IN POP (on Waiting For Me)

"How good is that?!" - The Scots Wahey Show (on Seasonal Change)

"A big tune" - Roddy Hart, BBC Radio Scotland (on Every Sensory Pleasure)

"I love the drive and the guitars in particular" - Frankie Francis, Amazing Radio (on Waiting For Me)

Sounding somewhere between The Replacements, The Cure, Bruce Springsteen and Wilco, Finn's introspective lyrics touch on feelings of fear, change and recklessness. Hospital Corner makes cathartic, melodic indie rock music with an occasional folk sensibility.

Chris says: "It's a band I always knew I'd start and now it's a band I want to take as far as I can. This is my first time as the main songwriter and I think I've found my voice. We want to play to as many new, music loving faces as possible. I love being on stage and trying to win people over with the songs. The things I write about stem from some of the worst times in my life but the live show is all about energy and melody. If the lights go up after we've played and the room feels slightly different then I think we’ve achieved what I want us to achieve."

JESHUA (Joshua Gray) is a Dundee-born solo artist based in Glasgow. His introspective dream pop encapsulates the everyday experiences of a fly-on-the-wall shop assistant, drawing from feelings of disconnection and the need for distraction from programmed living.
