Formed in 2017, Tiderays blend contemporary indie rock with a more traditional Scottish influence. They have toured large parts of the UK, including the north of England and all over Scotland.

In July 2018 they released 'The Anchor', engineered and produced by Rod Jones (Idlewild). The Anchor was played extensively across digital networks and was featured by Jim Gellatly on Amazing Radio.

Tiderays then achieved Jim Gellatly's "Track Of The Day" on Amazing Radio with their release "Papillon", as well as being featured on the BBC Introducing Mixtape by Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6 Music.

In December 2018 they received the accolade of 'Artist of the Week' by Born to be Wide in The Scotsman newspaper in partnership with The Association of Independent Music which you can read here.

In Summer 2019, Jim Gellatly showed further support for Tiderays by featuring them in his New Music column in The Scottish Sun.

Their debut album "Moving On" was released on CD in November 2019 followed by a launch gig at the esteemed King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, Glasgow. It is available for digital download across all major platforms.

The nine-track album is an opportunity for lead vocalist Eddie Oakes to tell vivid stories of his life experiences. Eddie has been writing since the age of 17, with some of his best songs coming from raw emotions and "moving on" showed that side.

There are tracks that present Oakes' fragility, while the next will be "cinematic and anthemic which would happily score a big road trip through Scotland's hills" (Dumfries and Galloway Life) - highlighting Tiderays' versatility and exploration in his writing.

Equally at home on the main stage at a festival, reputable gig venue and a range of more intimate venues, Tiderays are adding to their well established fan base with their live shows. Some highlights have included sharing the bill at Electric Fields alongside Frightened Rabbit, Dizzee Rascal, Band of Horses and Kate Tempest, to name a few, as well as headlining at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut.
