corto.alto is the brain-child of award winning multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and visual artist Liam Shortall who has also worked with numerous award winning musical groups such as Graham Costello's STRATA, Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, Tom McGuire & The Brassholes, AKU! & Fat-Suit.

Liam has worked as a trombonist, guitarist & music producer in Glasgow from the age of 16. He currently works with numerous award winning musical groups and projects in Scotland such as Graham Costello's STRATA, Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, Tom McGuire & The Brassholes, AKU! & Fat-Suit.

Liam’s maiden project, corto.alto brings together cross-genre musicians from across the world to explore new and original sounds in the world of Jazz & beyond.

Liam will be bringing a 7-piece band with him for this gig and we are thrilled to be welcoming such talented and esteemed musicians to The Vault Arts Centre, Newton Stewart.
